Flight BM1101 to Brussels diverted to Maastricht and landed safely, Newcastle Airport tweeted.

- 11:54 AM The Foreign Office is warning British travellers: “Stay away from crowded places and avoid public transport at this time.

                The Belgian Crisis Centre has given the Belgian telephone number 0032 2753 7300 for concerned family/friends.”

                Other airports in Belgium, notably Charleroi (Brussels South) and Liege, may also be closed.

- 11:14 Am Indian Embassy in Brussels will provide all assistance. 

                - Eurostar suspends all services to and from Brussels following explosions

- 11:11 AM Everyone with a booking from/to Brussels Airport up to 28 March, can request a refund or rebook their flight

- 10: 52 Am British Airways- Brussels incident: BA389 departed safely this morning. We've cancelled BA388 & BA392 from LHR-Brussels.

- 10:50 AM All public transport in #Brussels shut down. "Stay where you are" citizens urged.

- All flights Edinburgh - Brussels are cancelled today. Please check with your airline for alternative arrangements
